Buster, you rock baby. Thank you for giving me the kick in the "ya know". I just want everything to be ok with you as well and anytime you need someone to talk to I'm here, ok. Things frustrate us on a constant and we always take it out on everyone else. I am definitely taking your words to heart because I know they are to motivate and encourage me. I am forever indebted to you.
I know babygirl. Here in NY we are up to 4.99 a gallon. Makes me sick. Thanks to the government we have in power. I hope everyone gets out and votes so we can have serious changes.
We are ok. Just doing things here and there to get my rent money together. I'll stall the other guys.. I hope he finds something soon too honey. What does he do. I can look into stuff for him, let me know.
This is beautiful sweetheart. Though I am not Christian, with utmost respect and love, I admire your love and belief in your faith. Your children are blessed to have a wonderful mommy as you.
Hey guys, I'm here for a few if you need anything. I was so tired yesterday I collapsed. I think all the emotion and grind caught up. But I'm up and at em' and here for you. Lay it on me.
Ahhh. so be the luxury of the American that we have a society where things like this take presidence over more important matters. The fact that we are afforded this luxury, when in other countries that amount of money would feed a town for 3 months. Sick isn't it. As parents we don't make it better by spoiling our children. Don't get me wrong as a mother I understand the concept, but my son doesn't get what he wants like that. He has to save and earn it, like I do.

Blitzen,
Take one thing at a time honey. Concentrate right now on where you and your kids are going to rest your heads. You can't go into business or even think about it right now. That will come, trust me sweetheart.
If you have documented incidences of domestic violence, like police reports, hospital, children services interventions, the state should give your case priority. I know here in NY, Domestic violence survivors are the only ones to receive section 8 vouchers.
What county in Florida are you in, so I can direct you to a local office that can help with your housing situation. In the meantime Look into this:

Of course you're going to get the third degree because of your situation. You're living with your mother in law and you're bringing kids into this world when you can even afford a roof over your head. The advice you are going to get here is to get your priorities straight. I said this so many times if you have the energy to make a kid then you have energy to do what you gotta do to make your life better.
Financially you and your man have to help yourselves. He can get a security job, wash a car, clean. Tell him to look here:
Contact your local Legal Aid Society, so they can help you look over the paperwork that was given to you. Eviction is not an easy process and it is very detailed. The landlord has to do everything per the law or risk getting his case thrown out.
Here's the link for your local office serving Halifax county. Contact them ASAP.
Also here are some things for you to know, that can also be found on the website:
My landlord is taking me to court for non-payment of rent. What do I do?
If the only reason for your eviction is for non-payment of rent, you can avoid the eviction. At the hearing, before judgment is entered, tell the magistrate that you have the amount of money owed plus the court costs. The magistrate must dismiss the landlord's complaint.
That you are able, willing and ready to work EVERYDAY. That you are actively looking and registered with a certain amount of agencies that can assist you in finding employment in order to continue receiving unemployment benefits in the state of NY.
No need for sarcasm. I'm the queen, so now I will break it down for you. You spelled Journal wrong, if you write a response and are so quick witted to come up with that kind of response after someone tries to help, run a spell check first on your comment, it makes you look bad.
The sites I posted are for people who want to work from home to look into for themselves. I can point you in the direction of a resource and if it works for you then great, if not then keep it moving. I'm sure you're that smart and can look into things for yourself right? The key is to promote self-reliance and independence. I don't think I have to hold your hand. I only do that for my son and even he carries his own weight as I have taught him.
As for temp jobs, per Department of Labor standards, I have registered everywhere. If they don't get back to me, I just keep looking elsewhere. I prefer to go directly through a company to guarantee my security. Temp is exactly what it says, I can get rid of you anytime. I'm not going to take any job, which in all honesty I wish I could, to lose my unemployment benefits which pays me more than the typical job at a fast food place. Believe me they will take it away, and that would be dumb.
I hope you spend as much energy as you spend into downplaying someone who is trying to help you into concerning yourself with your own well being and life. You've been around long enough to know that life is not all cherries and roses. If you had a bad day today, that's not my problem. If you needed to talk, it would have been my pleasure. It's such a waste when you expend anger and frustration into the little things. So you have been brushed off. I still wish you luck and no hard feelings.... P.S. The patience worked and I found a GREAT paying job today. Your turn..
Unfortunately there is no funding available for headstones (unless it's military and that's automatic).
That is considered a luxury "sad", but true. The best bet is for everyone to chip in and pay little by little. Open up a bank account specifically for that. See if the actual monument maker can work out a payment plan that can be paid for over time.
I am so sorry for your difficult time. It's horrible that even in death we end up paying so much to pay tribute to the ones we love in life. Just be strong for him and his family. You sound like you are doing a great job. Head up!!
Thank you sweetheart. How's everything? How are the kids doing. I hope everything gets better for you. If there is anything I can look into for you, please let me know.
How much do you owe? Unfortunately with private university loans, the laws that apply to the other loans are not valid. You can ask the lender for a relief so long as you provide documentation. But if you noticed the economy has even cracked these guys down too, so the crunch will be harder on you.
Take a look at the info on these links and see if they help. They are articles about private loans.
A little something I read before I left for my interview today. I will post more articles here on job hunting, resume prep and anything that can contribute to your success. Please feel free to add anything here that can help others in their job search. Thanks
P.S. If you need help with a resume, please let me know. I'll be happy to help.
Preparation is key to a successful interview
Does the idea of going to a job interview make you feel a little queasy? Many people find that it is the hardest part of the hiring process. But it doesn’t have to be. The more you prepare and practice, the more comfortable you will feel. Increase your odds of landing the job you want by brushing up on your interview skills.
Prepare before you go. Find out all you can about the company before you go to the interview. Understand the products that they produce and/or the services that they provide. It’s also good to know who the customers are and who the major competitors are.
Practice makes perfect. It will also make you feel more confident and relaxed. So, practice your answers to common questions. Make a list of questions to ask, too. Almost all interviewers will ask if you have questions. This is a great opportunity for you to show that you have done your homework and have put some thought into your questions
Make a great impression. The interview is your chance to show that you are the best person for the job. Your application or resume has already exhibited that you are qualified. Now it ’s up to you to show how your skills and experience match this position and this company.
The employer will be looking and listening to determine if you are a good fit. He/she will be looking for a number of different qualities, in addition to the skills that you possess. To make the best impression, dress appropriately; sell your strengths; arrive early, by about 10-15 minutes; be enthusiastic; shake hands firmly; be an active listener; sit up straight and maintain eye contact; ask questions.
Say "thank you". After the interview, follow up with a thank-you note. This is a chance for you to restate your interest and how you can benefit the company. Your best bet is to try to time it so that the note gets there before the hiring decision is made. You should also follow up with a phone call if you don’t hear back from the employer within the specified time. Check out some samples:
Thank you Elaine. I take that as a complement as you yourself have blessed this community with your insight, resources and most importantly the gift of your faith. I am thankful that I came across this site and I plan to stick around to help in anyway I can.
I love to help when I can. If I were blessed like a Trump, no one on here would have problems, trust me. I have struggled in life and when things got better, something else would get thrown right back at me. Just got to suck it up I guess.
But hard knocks taught me that you can't be angry or take it out on others. You are not going to get hand-outs and fairy tales don't always have happy endings. That's life unfortunately.
But I will always be here and if I can help anyone in a right path, that's what I need to do. Give hugs to the kids. Thanks a lot mate!!!
I hope everyone's day was productive and good. Just an update I got the job!!!!! I start in two weeks when the principles return from a business trip overseas. I just wanted to extend my thanks to everyone here who has encouraged me to get off my "ya know" and do what I have to do. I will still be around to help and offer my support continually. I love what this forum represents and if there is anything that I can do to make your rough path easy, so mote it be "wiccan term"...
I'll be on for a few so please, let me know if you need anything...take care..
My phone interview went great today and I got called in for a face to face tomorrow. I guess they liked me. I knocked down my salary expectation a lot. But right now, people are very wary on giving a high salary once they hire you. I'll just go for the year end bonus..lol.
Well wish me luck the interview is at 4. I'll keep you posted.
What are the ages of the children? They can go to school for free. Here is a link to look into Head Start programs for any pre-school children in Miami :
If they are too young, your wife can look into work at home jobs. Take a look at my blog and look into those.
As far as her weight. Unless there is a condition she has that made her that way, then she needs to make the effort and lose it not just for her children, but herself. Inactivity contributes a lot trust me I know, I use to be big and that was one of my biggest problems. I know handling 5 kids is a lot, but I know if she is overweight, what really can she do with them?
What are your skills? What are her skills? Have you applied for all the benefits available to you, like food stamps, WIC. Here is another link to apply for benefits in Florida:

Carlos, In all honesty, I feel bad for you, but right now pride for many of us is out the door. I use to make almost six figures and now I have to eat it and take a job starting basically from scratch. I mean it's still would be good money, but trust me when I say way less.
I said it before and I'll say it again, if you have to wait tables, clean an office, do security, then do it. You sound like a healthy guy. The headache thing is not going to get you anywhere, honey. I know people who have debilitating headaches and they still get up and go.
In the meantime as far as resources. Here is the link for COMPASS, Pa's online benfits sign up portal:
I warn you however as a single male, you probably will get very little to nothing. But it is worth a try.
I wish you luck and I hope you find a JOB soon. Also check out the Department of Labor in your state and temp agencies. if you have a degree they should easily be able to place you, depending on your particular field.
